PS4: 10 Crucial Features Sony Must Implement In 2016
10. A Wishlist On The Console Version Of PSN Store
A wishlist has been high on PS4 owners', erm, wishlists for a long time now. In much the same way as they work for Amazon or for the PC gaming platform Steam, a PS4 would allow people to mark games or movies they don't yet own, then receive notifications when these things go on sale. This almost came to fruition when Sony announced last year that a wishlist feature was indeed coming to PSN, but we were left disappointed when it only appeared on the browser version of the PSN store (which there's a good chance many PS4 owners didn't even know existed until this very moment). So it's clear that Sony has seen the consumer benefits of the feature, but are reluctant to implement it in the most useful place. Why are they holding back on us? Perhaps Sony's logic is that they shouldn't make it too easy for consumers to track the games they want, as in theory we'd just wait around until sale time to purchase them i.e. the ethos being a reliance on reduced-price games = less money for Sony. But with the PS4's upper hand in the console war, they shouldn't be cheapskating around being consumer-friendly, as money-saving features like this can lead by example by giving them to us sooner rather than later.
