PS4: 10 Features Sony Must Implement In The Next Firmware Update

10. Media Streaming

DLNA or external media streaming is something technically available on the console if you download the Plex app - but most users aren't comfortable with third-party workarounds, instead longing for Sony to patch in something that would make their shiny black box communicate with the rest of the living room it's in. For the PS3 the slogan used to be "It only does everything" - a cool phrase especially when that media powerhouse of a console let you install music, movies and pictures onto the hard-drive as well as tapping into your laptop to stream the lot to the big screen. Put bluntly, the PS4 has next to none of this (the nearest comparison being to stream music from a USB stick) instead the reality is down to Sony's Music and Video Unlimited services being on offer, and they'd really rather you signed up for them than figure it out yourself. Sadly that just doesn't sit well when we've had the functionality to do otherwise across the entire previous generation, so please Sony, get it sorted.
