PS4: 5 Reasons To Buy It Over Xbox One
We were all expecting big things to come from Sony at this years E3 and they did not disappoint. Unlike their rival, Microsoft, Sony has delivered on their promises and listened to what the gamers want from the next generation of consoles. Sony has not only proved to us that this year they have learnt from their past mistakes with the PS3, but they have also shown us why they are still one of the big names in the gaming industry. In this article I will share what I believe are the unique selling points of the PS4 and why I believe gamers should consider buying one this year if they have not yet planned on doing so. Now without further ado, join me as we take a journey through the reasons and beliefs of a company that has changed the gaming industry to what we know it to be today. 5. Design & Hardware
Many gamers may not consider the look of the console to be much of an issue. However, if we are comparing next generation consoles, I believe that the overall style of a console plays a key part in making the decision of which console to buy.
Unlike Sony's main rival Microsoft, Sony has yet again proven they can design consoles making something different and unique, avoiding a simple box design which looks like an old fashioned VCR.
Now let's take a look on the inside: the PS4s central processing unit consists of two x86 - 64 Quad Core modules (8 cores) based on the upcoming Jaguar CPU architecture from AMD making this beast on par with some of the latest gaming PCs to date. Along with all of this the GPU consists of 18 compute units allowing a peak performance of 1.84 TFLOPS, all of this processing power can be used for graphics, physics simulation or any other task suited for general purpose computing. Sounds quite tempting, eh?
