PS4: 9 Big Changes PlayStation Plus Desperately Needs

3. XMB PS Plus Recommendations

Have you ever taken a look across the PS Store and noticed the 'Because you bought this, we recommend these!' pop-up on the right-hand side? It never, ever makes any sense, and is just as likely to recommend you try out Apotheon because you played Call of Duty, or Wolfenstein because you once browsed over King's Quest. I honestly have no idea what data Sony's service is pulling from to come up with these recommendations, but outside of fixing the general algorithm for the storefront, it'd be awesome to see these recommendations rolled out onto the XMB itself. Simply have a PS Plus icon next to specific features after you blow up a game's page by tapping down from a given tile. Icons could appear next to full DLC packs both upcoming and available, skins, additional levels - anything that PS Plus subscribers are going to benefit from should be front and centre the second they start scrolling. On the PS3, simply because PS Plus was so inherently optional and you could play online without it, it gave the service an air of prestigiousness - a feeling that if you were to sign up, you'd surely be showered with great rewards and constant barrages of exclusive offers. Well, now we've all signed up en masse, where's the special treatment, outside monthly freebies and one page of discounts?
