PS4: 9 Major Problems Sony Face In 2016

8. What The F**k Have They Done To No Man's Sky?

No Man's Sky's current status as this galaxy-questing, revolutionary IP that's 'set to dominate the world of gaming FOREVER'... comes from Sony's marketing push.

With great publishing power comes great responsibility, and as Hello Games' ambitious little title showed spark, Sony's global exposure has billowed it into a wildfire. It's inevitably been delayed as the developers are more determined than ever to get things right, and that's meant a string of highly-publicised release dates 'lying' to the public over and over, resulting in a game that will hopefully still be phenomenal, but is completely marred by Sony's mishandling of its own PR cycle.

At E3 2016, the biggest press event most close to its actual release... No Man's Sky was nowhere to be seen. A first-party title they were formerly selling consoles off the back of, championing like nothing else and thereby instilling goodwill in its developers - now Sony have backed away from their failed experiment, leaving the game twist in the wind.

It's an indication of what happens when one of the world's largest companies shines a spotlight on a 'small, indie project' with the best of intentions, only to back out and run for the hills when certain deadlines aren't met.
