PS4 Vs Xbox One: 10 2014 Releases To Win The War

10. Indie Games

If you would prefer to sit and tout that low budget independently developed video games are a drop in the ocean vs. mainstream offerings, you might want to pull your head out of the sand and reevaluate the constant shifting landscape of the industry. Telltale Games were showered with awards and praise for their take on The Walking Dead, Journey€™s composer Austin Wintory was nominated for a Grammy, and the acclaim has spilled over into recent releases such as Gone Home winning a VGX award. Some of the next generation games I€™m truthfully looking forward to most are these indie games such as Octodad- an offbeat lighthearted experience that has you playing as an octopus trying to keep up his human disguise- and No Man€™s Sky; a space exploration based game with procedurally generated environments ripe for discovery. We know that Sony has multiple indie studios publicly backing them as evident from Jonathan Blow€™s (Braid) new puzzle adventure The Witness being exclusive to PlayStation 4, and more. If Sony can get a wide variety of indie exclusives up over PSN throughout 2014, it will greatly benefit the console, essentially tapping into a market ripe for the taking.
