PS4 Vs. Xbox One: Which Console Won E3 2016?
6. Virtual Reality
You may have noticed my mentioning it under the last heading, but the Xbox One Scorpio will be fully equipped for VR.
Given the magnitude of this reveal, you'd have thought that Microsoft would be screaming from the highest mountains about the things they had in store on the VR front. But they revealed nothing of what games would be available for it, or even the headset that they'd be using - though it's likely they'll team up with either the Oculus Rift or the Vive rather than make their own in-house one.
The biggest bummer was that there was no mention of VR support for the current model of the Xbox One, which left the PS4 free to run rampant with a ton of treats it had in store - and boy, did it take advantage of its opportunity.
A ton of games was confirmed for the PSVR, which is set to be released on 13 October, 2016 with 50 launch titles. Among those revealed at E3 were Final Fantasy XV, Resident Evil 7, a Batman Arkham VR game, and an intriguing new IP shooter called Farpoint. Also (and I'm probably a fool for getting excited by this), there's a new gun peripheral, the PS VR Aim, coming out too!
Winner: PS4 - Nice to see Microsoft entering the VR game, but Sony ran rampant with an excellent VR turnout.
