9. Mercenaries
It's a real shame that Mercenaries only managed two games.
The sandbox series was something like Grand Theft Auto with a military twist. Players explored open worlds filled with warring factions, taking on missions and changing allegiances as they saw fit. The critically acclaimed series was a real treat with its range of military vehicles and fun mission dynamics.
Promised sequels never quite came to pass although EA have indicated they may return to the series at some point, still holding ownership of several Mercenaries related websites. But the advent of the PS5 is the perfect time to put a new Mercenaries game into development.
Greater processing power allows for bigger maps, richer gameplay and better graphics. Online play could offer a fun multiplayer element, while the original games' settings in Venezuela and the Korean peninsula are as exciting and relevant as they were 15 years ago.
