PS5: 10 Major Worries Sony MUST Address
8. How Will PSVR Integrate?
Will there be increased support for VR in the next generation? How will developers go about making games for a new headset?
We know little about the new headset peripheral for PlayStation 5. Sony's investment in the tech had its advantages with their strong market share in console sales.
With a large amount of gamers owning the PlayStation 4, it made sense to go down the virtual reality route with a cheaper headset to boot. The games released for PSVR thus far have been fairly simple, as developers get to grips with the hardware and how to integrate it into gameplay. Some of the better titles include Farpoint and Blood & Truth, though these aren't exactly AAA experiences.
With Valve having provided a massive leap forward for virtual reality with its Index headset alongside the return of Half-Life earlier this year, there is no some massive competition from the PC market. While none of its console competitors have entered the VR arena as of yet, Sony will need to go the extra mile when it announces the next iteration of PSVR, while also encouraging developers to push their own exclusives forward.
