PS5: 10 Ways Sony Can DESTROY Xbox Series X

How to make it two wins in a row.

When it comes to the console wars, the eight generation was a bit of a blowout. Most estimates (Microsoft don't publish their actual sales figures) suggest that the Xbox One is approaching 50 million units sold, while Sony have managed to ship well over 100 million PS4s worldwide.

Sony have dominated the generation for a variety of reasons. Microsoft infamously did a horrendous job of selling their new console as a "gaming" device, with its unveiling featuring next to no gameplay, instead focussing on the media capabilities of the multi-media functionality of the console.

This, coupled with the fact that the PS4 console was more powerful and considerably cheaper, meant that Sony had effectively won the generation before it even started.

However, Microsoft are in a much better position this generation to eat into Sony’s market; they have the more powerful console and some key exclusives lined up, such as the highly anticipated Halo: Infinite.

Sony therefore will not be able to rely on opposition incompetence to win the ninth generation of consoles and will instead need to look for other ways to dominate the competition for the second generation in a row. Here are some good places to start.

10. Naughty Dog's Next IP

Naughty Dog hold a strong argument as one of if not the best video game developers in the World right now. The studio has created some of the most beloved series in gaming history, ranging from wacky 3D platformers in the Crash Bandicoot series, to character driven thrillers such as The Last of Us.

With The Last of Us: Part Two finally arriving - and selling over four million copies - attention will turn to what the studio has next in store. Vice-President Neil Druckmann has hinted that they may release a new IP, and this would be the best direction to go.

Naughty Dog games are always able to garner extraordinary levels of hype due to their stellar reputation as a studio, meaning that a new IP from them has the potential to be what Crash was for the original PlayStation and what Uncharted was for the PS3.

Their new game is allegedly a first-person steampunk shooter, which isn't exactly an untapped market. However, if there is anybody who will be able to stand out in an increasingly crowded genre, it's Naughty Dog.
