PS5: 7 HUGE Mistakes Sony Are Making

3. No Physical Backwards Compatibility

Something that spins off from the PS Plus Collection "taking care of backwards compatibility" - the fact Sony still don't care about honouring past physical purchases.

Obviously there's a very plain business reality to digital storefronts - it lets Sony set price points and keep them sky-high, just like Nintendo - but unlike the Xbox Series X, there's no way to insert a disc that isn't a PS4 game, and have it work.

Again, it's something that differentiates Sony from Microsoft and their approach to the next generation, but when you have the open goal of hardware emulation right there - the fan-pleasing reality of playing all PlayStation games on one system - it's a travesty to not take the shot.

No doubt this is so Sony can sell our childhoods and memories back to us with separate purchases, rather than letting us access the discs we already own, but it's another thing Xbox is simply doing better.
