PS5: 8 Best Rumours We Want To Come True

1. It'll Be Out In 2020

Rumours of when Sony are going to reveal their next Playstation have been circulating for a while, with some indicating it could drop as early as this year, while other sources have clarified that the most accurate date is probably 2020.

Although the sources themselves seem far more substantial, it also makes more sense from a business perspective: both Microsoft and Sony recently released their mid-gen refreshes, and expecting customers to pony up for a new console so soon after could blow up in their faces.

Likewise, there's no real reason to release another console this year or even the next. Sony's exclusive roadmap is ridiculously strong, and will have them on top until at least the end of 2019, meaning they shouldn't announce another machine that would take the focus away from these games before then.

2020 looks like the most likely bet then, although sources have said that it could be earlier if Microsoft, who need a new console more than Sony, make a move first and force their hand.
