PS5 Wishlist: 10 Things Sony's Next Console Must Include
2. Better Online Services
If Sony insists that subscription fees are essential to its business model, there are ways it can continue to generate them without charging us to play online.
The key is to introduce better, more feature-rich online services for PS5 owners.
Take PlayStation Now, Sony's streaming platform. There's so much scope to improve the service going forward.
Many of the games on offer are at least a year old, and there's nothing dating back further than the PlayStation 3 era.
If Sony was to beef the platform up with PS1, PS2 and portable classics, as well as more recent titles, it has the potential to become the true Netflix of gaming.
As disc-based gaming gradually goes the way of the dinosaurs, services like this will become increasingly important, so revamping it will be key to the PS5's success.
