PUBG: 9 Features It Needs To Compete With Fortnite
6. Diverse Game Modes
Bluehole has already caught onto how popular Fortnite's limited-time game modes are - having recently hosted a 48-hour shotguns-only playlist for squads - but it's still lagging behind Epic's efforts by some margin.
Granted, given the former's smaller playspace and unique building mechanic, Epic's found it much easier to change up the rules with interesting modifiers such as the extremely popular 'Blitz' and 50 vs 50 modes, but Bluehole are far from lacking in options. It can use all of that map space to its advantage.
PUBG's strong core of play modes - squads, solo and FPP - are ripe for being retooled with entertaining modifiers.
Increased occurrence rates of supply packages, double-speed vehicles, weapon spawns with fully kitted-out attachments, silencers only? The opportunity is there, Bluehole just needs to instil itself with some urgency and get the ball rolling.
