Rainbow Six Siege Beta: 10 Big Things You Need To Know
2. Class Variety Is Great
Of all the additions to the franchise, the class mode found within Siege is probably the best. Though it's come at the expense of character customisation (needlessly, I might add), Siege's class system is great, and goes to great lengths to really differentiate the different CTU units that feature in the title. The British SAS use sledge hammers, gas grenades and jammers in combat, the German GSG9 have IED countermeasures and riot shields, and one Russian Spetsnaz agent even has an incredibly fun 'cluster charge' that can clear enemies out of any area it's pointed towards. The fact that only one character can be used by one player per map also demonstrates fantastic foresight on Ubisoft's behalf, as it forces fans to experiment and experience all the characters Siege has to offer. Each unit has four operators to offer, with two forming a part of the attack roster whilst the others form defence. The only negative of this is that players can only use 'attack' characters on the co-op modes, when defensive characters would be just as useful.
