Rainbow Six Siege Beta: 10 Big Things You Need To Know
4. Health Doesn't Regenerate
Now this? This I like. Fitting in with the mantra of ultra-realism for the latest Rainbow (players are limited to only one life in all its modes), players don't get the opportunity to regenerate health. The one annoyance that accompanies this gameplay element is a rather annoying greyed-out filter that hinders the game's visuals, which can get increasingly aggravating as players discover just how easy and quick it is to lose health. A lack of regeneration factor really acts as a boon to Siege's mechanics, as the only way to heal is determined by whether or not your team has a medic present to offer a boost. The 'last stand' mechanic made famous by Call of Duty is also present in Siege, though this does lead to some anomalies where you'll actually recover more health with a revive than you originally had when you were downed. All this and more shows that Siege is a different kind of beast altogether. It's wholly dependant on teamwork and communication in order to work, and that shows an aura of confidence in its community not many other developers would be so willing to invest in.
