Ranking All 151 Original Pokémon From Worst To Best
50. Rhydon
Rhydon is pretty impressive and I'm more than willing to overlook its flaws and weaknesses because its horn literally rotates like a big metal drill. I have all kinds of time for that.
49. Machamp
It's pretty hard to argue with a jacked-up martial artist wrestler-type that's got four arms. Machamp has crazy attack stats and decent defence as well. It's major downside is that it's painfully slow and can't stand up to anything with type advantage over it.
48. Victreebel
Somehow, on the character design front anyway, Nintendo managed to salvage the total mess of Bellsprout and Weepinbell. Victribell channels all the menace of killer plants although with, sadly, some average stats.
47. Dratini
Here you go, the highest placed 1st stage Pokémon that isn't a starter. Dratini was crazy exciting to both find and catch in Generation 1, and if you managed to snag one in the Safari Zone early on was absolutely integral to the end of your game.
46. Omastar
I've worn this "prehistoric Pokémon is a great idea and they executed it very well" idea out by now I guess but, yeah, it is and they did. That episode of the anime is in the all time Top 10 and If Omastar had better stats it's type pairing would have made it very useful in game.
