37. The Fear (MGS 3)

This may be the worst of the Cobra Unit bosses throughout MGS 3, but it's still an enjoyable battle. Snake has been shot by one of The Fear's poisonous darts, and so the first thing you need to do is remove it and patch yourself up. Secondly, you need to put on the thermal goggles, because this boss makes liberal use of stealth camo. With thermal goggles, it's an incredibly easy fight, with his attack patterns proving easy to avoid, while conventional gunfire will do away with him quickly enough. The battle gets a lot more interesting if you don't have the goggles, though, and there's one ingenious strategy to make things easier: dump all your rotten food on the floor and The Fear will eventually eat it, causing him to get sick and make his camo malfunction. Then just blast away! It's probably too easy and straight-forward to be all that memorable (unless you do it the hard way), but it's enjoyable all the same.
