Ranking All Of Metal Gear Solid's Boss Battles From Worst To Best

16. Vamp - Filtration Chamber No. 1 (MGS 2)

Vamp is easily one of the toughest enemies in MGS history, and so it follows that he's got a suitably entertaining and challenging boss fight. What makes Vamp so pesky to fight is the ridiculous speed at which he moves, and if you let him get far outside his rejuvenation pool, he'll dart around while hurling knives at you unpredictably. The most genius part of the fight, though, is Vamp's ability to stop your shadow, making you less mobile and more susceptible to attacks (though if you shoot out the lights, Vamp can no longer do this). You'll probably need a few rations to get through this one and explosive weaponry is highly recommended, as while Vamp is an undeniably intimidating enemy, the game never makes you feel less than capable here.
