Ranking Every 3D Super Mario Game From Worst To Best

Sunshine is an absolute Nintendo classic and very well may have the most charm of any game in the series. Fitting into the GameCube era perfectly with the likes of Luigi's Mansion and Mario Kart: Double Dash, Super Mario Sunshine looked to do something completely different to what had previously been established. That's great and all, and Sunshine truly is a fun game, but it just has too many problems.

First off, Super Mario Sunshine is probably the hardest Mario game out there. The spike in difficulty in comparison to the other games is both left-field and downright unforgiving. We were traded Super Mario 64's fluidity for Sunshine's FLUDD and its many restrictions, and most would agree that Isle Delfino got screwed over in that bargain. Sunshine's controls were already tighter than a shirt left in the dryer for sixteen hours, and this really put it over the edge.

Sunshine has some of the most infamously difficult moments in Mario history, such as the lava boat, the Pachinko Machine, and every time FLUDD suddenly disappears.

Also, f**k all 240 of those blue coins.

These issues aren't enough to stop Mario's visit to Isle Delfino from being incredibly fun, but it does stop Sunshine from reaching any higher on the list.
