Ranking Every Bioware Game From Worst To Best
4. Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic
While Bioware had been creating great RPGs for years, it was Knights of the Old Republic that really put them on the map. Translating their hardcore role-playing design over to the Star Wars universe, the developers were able to put their own spin on the iconic franchise by covering a period of time that had rarely been explored in the series' canon.
Transporting players back thousands of years before any of the movies, KOTOR dropped fans into a world where the Sith had all but exterminated the remaining Jedi Knights.
Learning about the Force in bits and pieces from the scattered rebel resistance, the player's journey from being a hired gun to a powerful Jedi Master made for an experience that fans had been waiting to live out in video game form for years.
Not only were players finally able to interact with the Star Wars world in a way that extended beyond slaughtering wave after wave of bad guys with a lightsaber, but they were encouraged to become whatever Jedi they wanted to be, right down to which side of the Force they eventually aligned with.
Capped off with an iconic twist that players are still reeling from today, over ten years later KOTOR remains the definitive Star Wars gaming experience.
