That is all that the Belfry Gargoyles really are. They are the Bell Gargoyles from the first game, but just a whole load more of them. It demonstrates the major problem of Dark Souls 2. The difficulty for the sake of difficulty. The first game had the gargoyles as a challenge to test what the player had learnt up until this point, whilst the second game just used them to say, 'look, we're just as hard as the first one'

They end up being, boring and repetitive. As well as the frustrating kind of annoying!
