1. Sir Alonne

When it comes to the best boss in the game, Sir Alonne and the Fume Knight are largely interchangeable. But, Sir Alonne takes the top spot purely because of all the surrounding features - not only is the fight incredibly fun, but the lore behind him is exceptional, his move set is challenging, his design is cool, and there are so many small details.

Beat him without taking any damage or healing once, and you get a unique death animation where he kills himself to retain his honour. And if that doesn't sell you on how great he is, you obviously haven't seen how gorgeous his boss room is, how epic the encounter feels, and just how shiny that floor is.

That shiny floor is worth top billing in itself, but Sir Alonne also makes for one hell of a phenomenal fight.
