Ranking EVERY Main Resident Evil From Worst To Best
8. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
What could possibly make the world of Resident Evil even scarier than it already was? How about taking the traumatising Mr X sequences from Resident Evil 2, and making an entire game of that? The team at Capcom thought that zombies wouldn't be enough for this third instalment in the franchise, and now Jill Valentine would have to deal with the only Tyrant that has a smile on its face, Nemesis.
Sections that were once standard fare for anyone who'd played the first two, now had had a giant S.T.A.R.S killing machine on their tail. This would lead to many first playthroughs resulting in a sprint for the next door just for a few seconds break before the chase started all over again. Now it is possible to take down Nemesis, but it is by far easier to just run away.
Players choice made its way into the series as a number of times there was more than one way to escape or take down Nemesis during each encounter. Among that Racoon city was finally fleshed out in a way not seen before. Now players could fight for survival in the city streets rather than read about it in journals and imagine what a fight it would be. This third instalment was a fitting end for Racoon City, and the traditionally fixed camera perspective the mainline series was famous for.
