Ranking Every PlayStation Classic Game From Worst To Best

5. Rayman

Metal Gear Solid 1
Ubisoft

You can’t help but feel a little bit sorry for Rayman when you look at the PlayStation Classic’s list. It’s a terrific platformer - good enough to survive into the modern era - and rejecting it simply because it’s not Crash or Spyro is grossly unfair.

For one, the N. Sane Trilogy and Reignited should be enough for anyone looking for their classic Crash or Spyro fix. But as well as that, Rayman doesn’t need comparison to anything; it’s a damn good game on its own.

This side-scrolling hit has a hugely colourful palette, with the vivid details unique to each world. Band Land is especially creative, seeing the player leaping on drums, sliding down piano wires and frantically dodging falling musical notes. They all share that sense of personality though, and you can see the level of craft in play.

As well as the superb side-scrolling runs, Rayman’s ability to throw his fists at the enemy was a joy too. Even without certain big guns, PlayStation Classic still offers something great for platform fans.
