Ranking Every PlayStation Developer From Worst To Best

8. Bend Studio

Days Gone
Sony

Notable Games: Syphon Filter series, Uncharted: Golden Abyss

In Development: Days Gone

Despite starting out by making the infamously bad platformer Bubsy 3D in 1996, this developer bounced back with the PS1's Syphon Filter, leading to a stalwart franchise for Sony into the PS2 era.

Sadly, Bend (and the franchise) became designated to the PSP. The niche appeal of the device soon had the brand fall out the zeitgeist. The studio continued in the hand-held space with impressive if limited entries from big-name PlayStation franchise like Resistance and Uncharted.

They’ve recently been given a chance to shine again in the Triple-A console space with the open-world horror/action title Days Gone. It's great to see the Syphon Filter team return to something large, although a lukewarm reception so far has had many assuming it will be Sony’s first console exclusive flop since The Order: 1886.

Let's keep an eye out for those reviews then...
