Ranking Every Pokémon Mobile Game Worst To Best
4. Pokemon Quest
The most recent Pokemon game on mobile devices is a port from the Switch. It seems designed for mobile, but must have been pretty boring on its original platform.
Pokemon Quest takes place in a Minecraft-style block world, transforming all the 151 Pokemon in the game into adorable blocky bundles of joy that are undeniably the best part of the game. The gameplay is rather unique - a team of three Pokemon run around a level attacking the nearest opponent, sometimes unleashing powers if commanded to by the player.
While the gameplay is very different to other Pokemon games it is quite limited in how interactive it is, as all you can do is sometimes boost a Pokemon's attack or make them unleash a different attack. There's no skill involved - you can't scrape through a hard level that you wouldn't normally beat, or chain together attacks to ace a boss. Since your team is given a numerical value based on their attack and health, and each level has a difficulty number that corresponds, the game can be a simple 'make your numbers bigger than the level's number' kind of game, which isn't fun.
It also gets really difficult quite quickly, and a big wall presents itself to the player after the first few levels. But due to the extreme cuteness of the Pokemon, and the novel gameplay style, it's still an interesting game.
