Ranking Every PS5 Game From Worst To Best (So Far)

6. Bugsnax

Bugsnax 2020
Young Horses

Bugsnax may have gotten a PS4 version, but it front-loaded the PS5's marketing and for millions of people online, was actually one of the reasons to pick up a console.

Whilst graphically or gameplay-wise it's not emblematic of what the system can do, Bugsnax is infinitely heightened by its subject matter, though it goes off and back onto the rails in the final third.

I'll not be delving into spoilers, but what lurks underneath this childish, pastel-coloured exterior is the beating heart of a dev team exploring mature themes of loss, loneliness, partnership and all-round negative headspaces, alongside the ways we can overcome them.

In terms of what you do in Bugsnax, it's an enjoyable Slime Rancher-style mix of light puzzle elements, as you round up the various Bugsnax in question using specific methods, then chat to the townsfolk in between.

Charming, unique, loveable... and completely insane. You need to see Bugsnax play out for yourself.
