Ranking Every PS5 Game From Worst To Best (So Far)
3. Spider-Man: Miles Morales
The flagship PS5 title that helped make the system outsell the PS4 at this point in its lifecycle, Insomniac's DLC-turned-full-game Miles Morales is a gorgeous title through and through.
Where the city largely stays the same as 2018's Spider-Man - albeit now with more visual flair like the best sunset you've ever seen and ray tracing throughout - it's the smaller-scale of Miles' neighbourhood-level story that makes the character work perfectly.
Alongside a neatly paced story is more of 2018's liquid butter-smooth combat, now bolstered by electric special modifiers that let you tackle groups of enemies more easily. Miles' animation set is also a huge upgrade over Peter Parker's, and the game will always find a way to transition in and out of any combination of swinging, combat, climbing, wall-running, mid-air stunts, etc.
It's also worth noting that Insomniac are masters of the SSD architecture, seeing the entirety of New York City load in literally two seconds. This transfers over into how enjoyable it is to literally do every last side mission or combat challenge possible; how easy it is to get around the city and how much fun it is to go for 100% Platinum completion.
