Ranking EVERY PS5 Launch Game From Worst To Best
8. Sackboy: A Big Adventure
Somewhat cannibalising Sony's platformer offerings as we're all getting a copy of Astro's Playroom built into the PS5, Sumo Digital's Sackboy: A Big Adventure does look surprisingly solid and experimental within its genre.
At this stage we've been through the late 90s/early 2000s 3D platformer boom, then seen it die off only for Mario Odyssey and Activision's Crash and Spyro remakes to revitalise the movement all over again.
Sony's last attempt to get in on such an ever-popular genre was the woefully bland Knack - a title that was charming enough, but had next to no innovation, alongside a forgettable protagonist.
Sackboy, being his originating series is Little Big Planet, already has oodles of memorability and a hand-crafted feel to levels bursting from every screenshot. It might be "the game the kids play" (if that's not Fortnite, anyway), but Sackboy's solo adventure looks remarkably recommendable.
