Ranking EVERY PS5 Launch Game From Worst To Best
6. Assassin's Creed: Valhalla
Actually dropping two days earlier to hit the Xbox Series X launch, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla will release its PS5 edition slap-bang on the same day as the system itself.
No doubt intended as a way to create physical bundle deals and other promotion tie-ins, the game also looks like the final iteration of what AC Origins and Odyssey started.
Sure, this new action-heavy direction has proven popular enough, but following various Ubisoft project leads being outed as utter scumbags, these same individuals were revealed to be those pulling the creative strings and mandating the same design ethos' over and over.
Even Valhalla's creative lead Ashraf Ismail has been fired, leaving the project's rollout to be fairly rudderless, and gameplay itself to look pretty predictable.
Still, despite the Assassin's Creed name not meaning very much identity-wise, going off Origins and Odyssey we know melee combat will be snappy and satisfying, and stealth will be methodical and rewarding.
Given a next-gen lick of paint, that might be all this fanbase needs.
