Ranking Every Quantic Dream Game From Worst To Best

1. Detroit: Become Human (2018)

As mentioned before, Quantic Dream feels like a studio that has improved itself with every game; this is no clearer than with Detroit: Become Human; their latest and clearly greatest game.

Now plenty of critics have banged the drum about how on-the-nose the discrimination allegories are explored, and honestly, sometimes the result can verge on cringe-worthy - yet, for the majority, we are rewarded with an emotionally gruelling, touching and exhilarating story.

The incredible motion-capture performances and graphics tech set a new standard for the 'interactive movie' as a viable rival to a Hollywood production. Also, Cage thankfully avoids letting his story devolve into utter silliness in its third act - instead, keeping a honed razor-focus on his three sympathetic android leads in this dark Sci-Fi tale.

Also, likely for the first time, the multi-choice paths a character can take (in this sort of game) are not hyped noise but substantially deep and intricate. The varying roads lead to such a multitude of vastly alternative events, that as soon as you finish your first playthrough, you'll be tempted to try a second one almost immediately.

Certainly, it's not a perfect game but its a damn fine one - and for the first time, Quantic and Cage have lived up to the high-bar hype they generated. Plus, it features the best use of the great Clancy Brown and Lance Hendriksen in over two decades...and for that it must be commended.
