6. Tony Hawk's Underground

Following the success of Pro Skater 4, it became apparent to the developers at Neversoft that it was time for the Tony Hawk franchise to go in a new direction. It was time to get away from Pro Skater sequels and make something that was familiar enough for loyal fans, but also had its own unique flavor and identity.

Enter Tony Hawk's Underground, which did all of that and more. Of all the Tony Hawk games, it's one of the most fondly remembered by longtime fans and for good reasons. It's all the fun of the Pro Skater series with a healthy amount of unadulterated chaos thrown into the mix.

While much of what this game had to offer seems rather juvenile now, it was exactly what the series needed at the time of its release to shake things up a bit and usher the franchise into a new era.
