Ranking Every Upcoming Star Wars Project - By Hype

Disney has already announced that a new trilogy of films is on the way for release in December 2022, 2024, and 2026. Contrary to initial speculation, apparently this is not going to be the Rian Johnson helmed trilogy that is rumoured to take place completely separate from the established universe.

So what are these films and why do we know nothing about them?

Well, as the fans who are delving into the previously mentioned Project Luminous believe, we already do. Fresh rumours have circulated that now post-The Rise Of Skywalker, a new announcement is coming very soon about the direction the Star Wars franchise will be taking with the conclusion of the narrative of the original films.

Instead, what is rumoured to be next up on the slate for Disney is a shift back in time to the days of the previously unseen glory days of the Republic before the rise of the Empire, or as rumour has its name; The High Republic.

Whilst fans have been very vocal for their desire to see a live-action adaption of either game series The Old Republic or Knights Of The Old Republic, this rumour has caused plenty of debate about the merits of what the focus of the films will be. The Sith are believed dead and are in hiding, historically this is supposed to be one of the periods of heightened stability in the galaxy, and the Jedi are at their most powerful.

The idea from the fans following Project Luminous then is that this series will take us into the Unknown Regions and explore new threats to the galaxy that have not been encountered before, and potentially set up future conflicts that take place after the conclusion of the trilogy of trilogies. There's also the possibility that a much younger version of Yoda may feature heavily or be the central character in this new story, further wetting fans' appetites and cause for speculation.
