In Development: Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, Project: Mara

Ninja Theory is one of the most captivating (if slightly underrated) creators of action games working today - and since 2018, they've been part of the Xbox first-party line-up.

Their backlog holds a long list of polished, exhilarating, one-of-a-kind games (Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, DMC), that weirdly never got their due.

Due to this, the studio had to coast on several support money gigs, until they took a gamble and self-financed their own indie game: Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.

It was a dark, harrowing Norse tale of mourning and redemption, packing a gripping story and strikingly individual game design, leading to critical and commercial success. With the Xbox purchase, it puts them in a position to take similar creative chances, without having to bet the farm.

Sure, their recent multiplayer hero combater Bleeding Edge, was...just fine, but with Hellblade 2 and mysterious horror game Project: Mara both in development (and sporting healthy budgets), incredible things could be incoming...
