Recent Release: Wolfenstein: Youngblood (with Arkane Studios)

Past Highlights: Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: The New Colossus

In Development: Untitled Wolfenstein sequel

A developer made up of Starbreeze Studios veterans, Bethesda offered to buy them if they revived the classic Wolfenstein franchise...it was an offer they couldn't refuse.

The result was Wolfenstein: The New Order, a fantastic reboot of the IP with breakneck shootouts and a compelling campaign, putting the dormant series back on the top spot.

The following games have varied though: The New Colossus was enjoyably crazy but also frustrating, Youngblood was fun but weirdly designed, and Cyberpilot was just a plain disappointment.

Still, they make for a great addition to Xbox though, they're full of personality and one of the most impressive action devs on the market. Plus their mandates (franchise focus, strong FPS makers) put them in familiar company amongst their first-party brethren.

Let's just hope they've ended their experimental phase and the in-development Wolfenstein sequel sticks to what works best.
