7. Grow Home
Usually when you hear the moniker of 'retro title' it's applied to some nicely coloured, 2D pixel-filled platformer. However hardly anyone harkens back to the delightful days of the N64, PS1 or even PS2 for their throwback kicks, and so enter Grow Home; an indie-lovers dream that's all about quirky character design and sparse sound effects. See, you're just attempting to get home, one branch of an ever-expanding vine-filled tree at a time. You're able to hop on said vines and 'pilot' them across to other large stretches of greenery within the world, but the main aim and fun to be had is through exploration itself. If you liked things like Flower or Journey - titles that present you with a world and allow you to get lost amongst the colours - this is one for you, and although it does revel in its expanse, you'll become pretty attached to your little droid over the many hours spent journeying skyward - just don't think of the horror when you inevitably fall off...
