4. South Park: The Fractured But Whole

After suffering a few delays, the sequel to the surprise smash-hit South Park game The Stick of Truth finally released earlier this month, thankfully being worth the wait.

Following on from the immediately addictive RPG gameplay of the original, The Fractured But Whole retains the core essence of South Park while still making for an enjoyable game to actually play.

Likewise, despite being in development for years, the references and social commentary are as relevant as ever, with the take-no-prisoners approach to satire the TV show is known for thankfully making its way over to the sequel.

There were still a few problems that dragged the game down a bit, not least a questionable intro that doesn't set the full story up up on its strongest foot, but despite lacking the same novelty and originality The Stick of Truth became known for, TFBW is still a great sequel regardless, and easily one of the funniest games of the year.
