Where the Xbox One is concerned, it's likely fair to say that the console hasn't had any genuinely great wrestling games.

Whereas the PlayStation 4 was blessed with Fire Pro Wrestling World at the end of 2017, the Xbox One wasn't quite so lucky. Unlike the PS4, Fire Pro Wrestling World was never ported to Xbox One - and so the best of a bland bunch for Xbox One wrestling games comes down to the more recent WWE 2K releases.

Obviously, WWE 2K20 is completely out of the conversation here, with that being a true dud. Could this year's WWE 2K Battlegrounds nab the top spot of Xbox One wrestling games? Possibly. But the game that probably just about claims the mantle as best Xbox One wrestling release is WWE 2K16.

WWE 2K16 wasn't without its problems, but the game forever has an appeal to a certain generation of fans due to the 2K Showcase mode allowing you to play through the career - from WCW, to ECW, to WWF/E - of 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.
