Rayman Legends: 10 Reasons It's Awesome

Rayman Legends A

Easily one of the most controversial games of the last 12 months, Rayman Legends should have been in the laps of Wii U owners back on February 26th of this year, but due to Ubisoft opting to develop versions of the game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the game was delayed for a whopping 6 months despite the Wii U version already being finished. Gamers - especially Wii U owners - were outraged at a game developer having the gall to deny players a completed game just so the other platforms could play catch up (especially considering the rather poor Wii U line up to date). Well, 6 months later, and though we're all still mad as Hell about what Ubisoft did, Rayman Legends is finally upon us, for Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360 and even PC, meaning that just about everyone gets to enjoy this wonderful platformer, which if it were released solely for the Wii U, just might have been the unit-shifter that Nintendo is sorely in need of. Here are 10 reasons why Rayman Legends is awesome...

10. It Was Worth The Wait

Rayman Legends B Was it massively disappointing that the game was delayed so long? Sure. Did it create a certain level of worry, that perhaps Ubisoft were going to go back and tweak some dissatisfactory elements in the game? Absolutely. Is the game worth the wait? You freaking bet. Though Ubisoft's practice was incredibly crass and not something that should be encouraged among developers, they have mostly vindicated themselves with what is, seemingly on any platform, an excellent game. Though Legends would have been a major coup for the Wii U as an exclusive - given its 91% Metacritic score at present, the highest of any game on the platform - I'm glad Ubisoft took that little bit longer, so that a far wider audience of gamers can get their hands on this ludicrously entertaining game.
