Red Dead 3: 5 Things We Want to See

3. A Proper Setting

Although the map and setting of Red Dead Redemption were both fine, I take some issue with the particular year Rockstar chose. I just can't believe that the weaponry and culture of the United States was like that exactly in 1911, and no matter how engaging the gameplay was, it just didn't sell to me fully. Then, when the game jumped forward to 1914 I really found it unbelievable: I know that 1911 didn't have modern machine guns and the CIA keeping everything under control, but the "Wild" west is, to me, around the 1890's mark at most. I think Rockstar needs to return the setting to a slightly earlier, more authentic period to amp up the realism. And for God's sake, no Jack Marston.
