Red Dead Redemption 2: 10 Leaked Details You Need To Know
6. Rockstar's Real Life Production Woes Are Why We Don't Have A Release Date
A little insider baseball here, but a key part of the leak ends by noting that "morale at Rockstar San Diego had been bad. Long timers are quitting. Lots of turnover. Lots of frustration".
As a standalone piece of context-less info it fell by the wayside, but flash forward to now and we have a game releasing in 2018, with two trailers, and yet no release date. We also saw Rockstar's own Leslie Benzies calling it quits in 2016 - a figure who was instrumental in the formation of Rockstar as a studio, and Grand Theft Auto as a franchise. He'd certainly fit the "long timers quitting" comment.
Lastly, another part of the leak states that the "leaders of Rockstar [weren't] impressed" with early versions of the game as they were too similar to Red Dead Redemption, and this is all compounded by the reality of the new trailer being met with mostly tepid responses. So far, Red Dead Redemption 2 is essentially more of the same.
No release date, and gameplay that looks to be very similar to what we got in 2010 - Red Dead Redemption 2 could actually be in more trouble than we think.
