Red Dead Redemption 2: 10 Ways Rockstar MUST Do Single Player DLC
2. Young Dutch & Hosea
With revisiting a young John and Arthur comes a younger Dutch and Hosea too. This might just seem like the same idea as before, but the focus shift makes for a massive difference.
Playing as a young John or Arthur will allow us to see the younger Dutch & Hosea in their prime, yes. With a smaller gang, they’ll likely get a lot more focus than the main game, but through Arthur & John’s lenses, they’d still not get the attention they deserve.
We’d only really see them in fatherhood mode, and we’d miss the private moments between the pair.
Hosea was one of the most beloved characters in the gang, while - unlike Micah - Dutch was a rich and complex villain. Getting to know even more of them could offer up a new and deeper appreciation for the core game.
With Hosea, we can see him (maybe even play as him) at his peak, and see first hand how he tempered Dutch. With Van der Linde himself, we could see the earliest signs of his capacity for self destruction, and learn how crucial Hosea is to his world view.
