7. Abigail Kills Milton

Abigail Marston is one of the most conflicted figures in Dutch's gang, and the one most determined to make it out alive. She has a son to take care of, and a partner torn between two lives. One thing that was made abundantly clear in the game, however, was that she would do anything to protect her family - a point best exemplified by the shooting of Agent Milton.

Milton cuts a decidedly ghoulish figure throughout the game, haunting Dutch's gang as the spectre of 'civilisation'. After what he gets up to, however, his death couldn't have come soon enough.

Arthur, together with Sadie, tracks down Abigail, who had just been abducted by Milton and the rest of the Pinkertons, and the resulting shootout leads to Sadie's capture. Morgan, literally sick to death and determined to ensure Abigail gets out before he passes, charges into town and murders all of Milton's men. He's then ambushed once he gets to the building where the two women are being held captive, and collapses to the floor in a coughing fit. Milton then seizes the opportunity to kill Morgan, but before he can, Abigail reaches for Arthur's revolver and shoots him in the head, saving his life in the process.

The entire sequence is immaculately constructed, and the fact it was Abigail who shot Milton makes it all the better.
