Red Dead Redemption 2: 11 Most Shocking Story Moments

6. Grimshaw Kills Molly

Molly O'Shea isn't exactly the most well-developed member of Dutch's gang. She rarely talks to anyone at camp, stays almost exclusively in Dutch's tent and seems far more concerned with high-society living than she is in the cause of her husband, which admittedly becomes more and more difficult to discern as his mental state regresses the further we get into the story.

Anyway, it's chapter six; Dutch's gang is collapsing, Arthur is dying from Tuberculosis, and several key supporting characters have been killed. This turning point arguably occurred during the botched heist in Saint Denis, which failed because the authorities were tipped off. Who was the rat? None other than Molly herself, who argued she did it out of hatred of the man Dutch had become.

There was only one way this interaction could've ended, even as Arthur protested for another solution. Molly's betrayal resulted in the deaths of Hosea and Lenny (not Lenny!), but just as the leader of the Van der Linde gang appears to make his mind up, Miss Grimshaw picks up a nearby shotgun, and shoots Molly in the stomach.

"She knew the rules", she says, clearly unperturbed by Molly's death. Still, even if her death was inevitable, the fact it was the no nonsense Grimshaw who did the killing made this moment particularly shocking.
