Red Dead Redemption 2: 15 Disturbing Secrets & Locations You Totally Missed
9. Ghost Train
Speaking of metaphorical ghost towns, there are some genuine ghostly sightings that players have reported so far in RDR 2 (honestly, probably enough to fill up this whole list), but it's the ghost train that's the most visually impressive.
It shows up at about 3am, with the most reliable spawn point being the sign marking the entrance to Lemoyne. There you'll see it take its nightly route, maybe to drop off other ghouls for their own haunting shifts. It's different from the rest of the trains in the game, and it could actually also be a reference to the ghost train from Final Fantasy VII considering the visual similarities, making it a double Easter egg.
What's cool is that considering you can't tell where the actual train is currently at in the game, you might get to the point where you've spotted the ghostly version more times than the actual corporeal one.
