Red Dead Redemption 2: 16 Essential Gameplay Secrets You Need To Know
13. There Are Two Types Of Close-Quarters Execution
What better way to end a bullet-trading war of attrition than with an up-close finisher?
The first game gave us shotguns to the chest and running headshots, but here you have two options that then get modified depending on what you're holding:
- Tackle-kill. Spring with X/A and press Circle/B to shoulder charge your opponent to the floor, where you can then press R2/RT to finish them off. The knife throat-slit is particularly gruesome, as is removing their head entirely with a shotgun.
- Standing kill. Same as before but without the Circle/B push. Just close the distance and press R2/RT when facing your foe. It seems to depend o randomness, but Arthur will use whichever weapon is equipped to do a number of animations, ranging from shooting someone straight through the chin... to stabbing them multiple times, also in the chin.
