Red Dead Redemption 2: Everything We Know About Red Dead Online
2. Pre-Ordering Will Grant Players Certain Boosts
At the time of writing, GTA Online has approximately 120 weapons for players to choose from. That's an awful lot to outfit your character with, and though there are certainly limitations to a western-era armoury, there's more than enough in there to keep players occupied.
Pre-order bonuses will include additional weaponry and rank bonuses. The first thing isn't too surprising, as it essentially confirms that there'll be gunsmiths in the world that'll offer out weapons of varying quality, but the second aspect is potentially more interesting.
In GTA Online, players ranked up their characters by essentially doing more of certain things. The more they drove vehicles, the better their driving skill; the more they sneaked around, the better their stealth would become. It was a fairly simple system that encouraged players to experiment with different play-styles, but it was in no way affected by rank.
The ranking system in the game did lock certain things until players reached a certain level however. The minigun, for instance, was an exclusive for the over 100 club. What bonuses could translate to Red Dead are still uncertain though, but if Rockstar make genuine efforts to expand skill trees, and ultimately make the experience more compelling, it'll be a vast improvement over its predecessor.
