Red Dead Redemption 2: Everything We Know So Far
3. More Ways To Travel Than Horseback
One of the weirdest restrictions in the original Red Dead Redemption was the inability for the player to swim across bodies of water.
The idea was that rivers and lakes would artificially spread out the game's map, making it easy for the developers to create dedicated routes from A to B that would come in handy for some of the game's biggest set-pieces. It wasn't exactly elegant, but it got the job done.
This design philosophy feels a bit too 'video-gamey' for Rockstar these days though, and with GTA V shipping with an entirely explorable sea bed, you can expect more water-based ways to traverse the Wild West going into Red Dead Redemption 2.
