And what would those gorgeous visuals be without an incredible sound package to boot? Characteristically, RDR2 is an absolute banger across-the-board in this area, from the voice acting to the musical score and sound effects.

If Roger Clark does a remarkable job making Arthur a complex and nuanced protagonist, he's only outdone by Benjamin Byron Davis, whose velvet-voiced Dutch once again steals the show, while Rob Wiethoff's reprisal of John Marston is an utter delight.

Original composer Woody Jackson also returns for the sequel, and from the sweeping operatic overtures to the incidental music, he does a fantastic job boosting the game's atmosphere immeasurably.

And of course, there's the actual sound effects themselves, which from the meaty, crunchy gunfire to the most ridiculously subtle environment effects, are absolutely at the top of their field.
